Dear members
Some weeks ago I asked the question about "Time" and its meaning, there
were not many responses and those members that did respond all had a
very "mechanistic" view. Plenty has been written about Time, de Rosnay
has a whole chapter dedicated to it, but very mechanistic. The problem
of time has to be solved before when can even begin to understand
ourselves. I point the members of this list to Elliot Jaques' book on
The Form of Time. I propose the following formula on Motivation =
f(difference F, D: Ti), F = to our fears, D=desire & expectation and Ti=
the time of intention. professor Jaques in his book speaks about the
time of intention and the time of succession. The succession part is
what everyone always talks about, i.e. events etc etc. That what is
measured by chronometers of whatever shape & form. Time of intention Ti,
is linked to human motivation, perception, complexity of mental
reasoning and hence everything that we produce, need, desire, hope for,
seek, fear of loss, the dread of fear, the feared disadvantages. To fill
that deprivation that emptiness within????????
