Introductory Teaching Materials

I am looking for any references to texts or journal articles to be used
in an introductory engineering course on Systems Theory.

I've already taken a look at Dealing With Complexity by Flood and Carson
and the Open University course materials. I'm wondering if there is
anything else out there.

Is there anyone currently researching the techniques, trials, and
tribulations associated with teaching Systems theory? Peter Checkland
seems to have touched on these issues at a graduate level, and Jay
Forrester has looked at incorporating System Dynamics into grade-school
education, but I have yet to come across anyone focusing on this as
their primary research.

Thanks in advance for any references or contacts you may have.
