How did you hear about PCP?
I have done a search through WWW for the word "semiotics" and found
your web page (one of your e-mails in PRNCYB-L list used such word).
Then, I browsed through your web pages and found the main issues of
PCP very interesting, and became motivated to join the discussion list.
So, I am following the instructions given in the Web pages of filling
this form and sending to you.

Let me introduce myself (as requested).
I have recently finished my Phd in computer sciences and I am currently
working as a professor at the DCA-FEEC-UNICAMP. The theme of
my thesis was: "Contributions to the Mathematical Study of Intelligent
Systems". Basically, it introduces a new mathematical approach for
studying intelligent systems, called Computational Semiotics. This
approach tries to map the concepts from semiotics into mathematical
models that we aim to use for building models of intelligent systems.
We developped a main body of theory, to serve as a foundation for such
motivation, and made some implementations to validate its proposition.
I am now organizing such material for submiting it for publication.
I have a major background in the topics of neural networks, fuzzy
systems, evolutive systems, and also deep concerns involving the
philosophic principles that explains the phenomenum of intelligence.
intersection among the work I am developping and the main issues
of your project. So, I want to know more of your work, and maybe
make my own contributions to the project. That's why I am interested
in subscribing to the PRNCYB-L mailing list.
If you need more information about me or my research, feel free
to e-mail me.
Bye,
