Ryan Smith (kaldari@nashville.net) has set up an experimental "mirror" of
PCP Web for North America. It can be reached at
http://opus.telalink.net/default.html. Please try it out, compare it with
the original Belgian server at http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/ and let me know
whether it seems to work faster or more slowly for your particular
location. I expect clear speed improvements for North Americans, probably
worsening for Europeans, and no clear change for the others. But that is
mere guessing at present... Don't forget to tell me where you are located.
If the expected speed improvements materialize the mirror may become
permanent. But we still need to find a simple way to keep the files on the
mirror up-to-date with those on the original server. Suggestions (e.g. for
mirroring software) are welcome (both servers are PowerMacs.)
