Cliff,
your idea of more active moderating is an excellent one.
However I moderate a bunch of conferences in a CMC system (CoSy)
associated with the courses I teach & I find it takesa a lot of time
indeed. Franis H. has been doing a pretty good job of nudging
thingsd along.
My reservation is about the topic people who spend a lot of effort on
why something is NOT possible, as perhaps Rosen does? don't
contribute much to progress in my view. Let us try to make some cybersystemic
meme-complexes here that will virally infect the whole web! why not!
presumably that means they should be practically as well as theoretically/
heuristically valuable?
