SYNTHESIS on self-production etc. discussion

Let me STRONGLY suggest that those involved in the whole self-propduction
replication etc. discussion try to synthesize and move toward some level of
consensus, even if partial.

Whatever communal view they come up with should be codified into a set of
nodes, one each for replication, production, reproduction, dissipation,
etc. I will then work with Francis to get them into HTML format and
incorporate into the web in the appropriate place as a contribution from
those authors.
