I am working on a book on the topic of global moral community. I've written
previously on cognitive science, medical ethics, and human rights theory. I
am interested also in evolutionary ethics and political philosophy. My
current project on global ethics seeks to extend the conventional ethics
in three directions: to an intercommunal ethics that recognizes
responsibilities to members of different national/ethnic/religious/racial
communities than one's own; to an intergenerational ethic that recognizes
responsibilities between present, past, and future generations of humans,
and an interspecies ethics that recognizes responsibilities between humans
are other life forms.
