Perhaps Cullen's perspective is a bit confused, memes circulkating among
humanimals and machines produce the epiphenomena of organisations,
institutions,. and cultures dont they?
I prefer to call these larger entities DAVOs Distributed (like distributed
computer programs) Autopoietic (becausethey aggressively & competitively
produce thhemselves) Viral because they insinuate themselves into
humanimal and machinr hosts to be reproduced, and Organisms because of
theirrelatively high integrity.
But Pask calls them P-individuals a moreestablished terminology.
