Nice try but you forget the sun. Life on earth is doomed without the sun. So
much for independency. But maybe the sun itself? As far as I can see the sun is
self-producing (autopoietic) and independent. Thus, if independency is a measure
of life then this indicates that the sun is more alive than us humans. Yet
another reason to let parasiting be the main feature of life.
