Dear Mr.Joslyn,

I'd like to keep updated on the progress of the PCP project. I just
found it today, as I'm quite new to the web.
First I'll answer the questions asked:
1.Name: as in e-mail adress
2.E-mail: as above
3.Postal address: Jahnstrasse 5a
94032 Passau
Germany
4.Phone: Germany 0851/37574
5.Affiliations:none
6.How to know PCP: I found it via APA link in the web
7.Subscription: I would like to get the newsletter, but I'm not (yet)
qualified enough to participate.
8.Reasons for interest in PCP:
I'm sure, you don't want to read my life history or
amateur philosophy, so I'll just give you some basic facts.
I'm studying economics at Passau university and am 23 years old.
My interest in philosophy stems from my grammar school studies in
Latin and ancient Greek, some reading, a paper about H.D.Thoreau I
did for graduation and my experiences from a year as exchange
student, when I broadened my views about values and their
justification.
I did not dare to study philosophy, but chose economics after
spending one semester on cultural studies. The method of economic
analysis and the view of the human being as an Homo oeconomicus living
under certain restrictions seems to have a connection to your project.
I also find the scope of it breathtaking: Philosophy as a growing
organism through steady exchange of knowledge in its variations
rather than a search for 'absolute' truth under the strict rules of
one single discipline.
Currently I do not have the necessary knowledge to add my bit
of valid information to the project, but I hope to be able to do so in
a couple of years, when I might have successfully studied economic
models and theory, the correct definition of systems and their
functions ,as well as the limits of this approach.
But until then I'd like to be at least an observer and learn by this.
If there is any introductory literature you would consider important
and appropriate to my level that is not on the PCP pages, I'd be glad
to know:

Sincerely,
Stefan Roth
