    Yes, we should agree that this is the fundamental truth that Rosen
    presented. I fully accept it, but also realize that it changes what some
    people think is the domain of science in terms of both content and
    method. I think there are two implications that people have considerable
    trouble with:

    1. What, then, is the relationship between "models" and the things we
    interact with as realized physical structures that have observationally
    non-complex properties ("things" that behave classically in physical
    experiments and everyday life)? If such things are in "reality"
    Rosen-complex, we are led to the conclusion that they are also the
    result of a modeling relation at some ontological level. In that case,
    it leads to the idea that the physical world, as we know it, is the
    result of sensory perception at a fundamental level, and we collide with
    the debate about "observers."

    2. If "everything" is complex, and complex means it has an "abstract" or
    "non-physical" component (Rosen's "formal" system that represents
    function), then we have defined explanatory "reality" as something that
    cannot be observed directly. For many scientists that violates their
    epistemological assumptions, which are that everything must be explained
    in terms of something that can be observed. Even Einstein's general
    relativity was driven by that epistemologcial assumption.
